Health & Certifications: Our Commitment to Quality
At Lakeside Labradors, the health and well-being of our Labradors are paramount. We go above and beyond to ensure our puppies are not only beautiful but also healthy and well-adjusted. Explore our certifications and health practices that set us apart.

Genetically Tested and Cleared
We ensure our Labradors are genetically tested and cleared, providing peace of mind that your puppy is free from common hereditary diseases. Some of these diseases include EIC, CNM, PRA, HNPK, SD2, and copper toxicosis. We test for all recommended common hereditary Labrador diseases and more. This proactive approach helps ensure a long, healthy life for your new family member.

OFA Hip and Elbow Ratings
Our Labradors have OFA hips good or excellent ratings and OFA elbows normal ratings. These certifications are crucial for ensuring proper joint health and reducing the risk of dysplasia. As our Labrador Retrievers age, things like hip or elbow dysplasia can drastically effect the quality of life for our furry family members and by having our breeding Labrador Retrievers ratings be good or excellent, it gives our future babies a much better chance of healthy joints with proper care.

AKC Certified and more...
We have AKC certified Labradors. We adhere to the highest standards of breeding and are proud to say we have done our research and continue to strive for the best for our Labradors. With being AKC certified, this can give you peace of mind in knowing your dogs pedigree and where they are coming from.
Starting off with Early Neurological Stimulation (ENS) and Early Scent Introduction (ESI) helps our puppies improve cardiovascular health, decrease anxiety, increase confidence, enhance future scent work, and become better overall companions.
By starting out with ESI and ENS, we are helping to prepare the puppy to be ready to take on as much education as you are willing to give them. Labradors tend to want to work and please their owners, so be ready to teach your dog what you want out of them and they will most likely be happy to oblige .
We recommend taking a puppy training course like S.T.A.R. puppy with a reputable kennel club. This can increase your puppies confidence, work on socialization, and help them learn what you want out of them. Getting certifications can only enhance you and your puppies relationship. Plus, it really is a fun time to bond with your pup.
Benefits of AKC and OFA Certifications
Being AKC and OFA certified provides families with an understanding of what to expect in terms of a puppy's well-being and lineage from parents records. These certifications validate our commitment to breeding healthy, well-adjusted Labradors and show what a family should expect as we provide proof our dogs are cleared by trusted standards of testing.
